Contacts - Cultural Contrasts The
succesful completion of the project Cultural Contacts - Cultural Contrasts
in Guatemala encouraged our team to establish cultural contacts with other
countries. 2002
A cultural exchange between Austria and Guatemala came about in Febuary due
to the incentive of certain interested austrians. This project was not only
carried out by the people directly involved but also with the assistance of
business associates, Dr. Walter Koren who at that time was the Austrian
trade delegate for Guatemala and also the Lower Austrian Governments
department for foreign affairs. In Guatemala the project aroused
considerable attention. A workshop in the Austrian School in Guatemala
Ciudad and an exhibition of work by the austrian artist Ann Limnos and the
guatemaltekan artist Raul Vasquez were the climax of this cultural exchange. 2003
This project was continued within Austria from July 2nd. until July 13th. In
the ‘Kunsthalle’ in Krems the guatemaltekan artist Raul Vasquez and the
austrian artist Ann Limnos worked together on a common theme ‘I am’ The
interchange of different cultural and social aspects are significant in the
work of both artists. 2004
Due to the success of this project in Guatemala and with the view to further
this idea we are now looking for interested and competent contacts in New
Zealand. Ann
Limnos from Austria will be visiting New Zealand for about five months from
November 2004 onwards. The aim of this visit is to get to know this country
and its people and also to meet other artists who would be interested in an
exchange of ideas. We
invite all artists and people interested in cultural activities to make
sugestions for the realisation of this project in New Zealand. We will be
grateful for the naming of any contact addresses and look forward to hearing
from you. |
